Resolution Requesting the North Carolina General Assembly to Create a New Public Utility District to Manage the Union County Public Works Service Area
I was recently asked to provide a written response explaining my support of Resolution 2023-014. Below is my complete and official public response.
Thank you for taking the time to call me last week seeking a response in writing about Resolution 2023-014, requesting the North Carolina General Assembly to create a new public utility district to manage the Union County public works service area.
In preparing this response, I was reminded of when we first met. We were joined in community prayer under the water tank in downtown Waxhaw for President Trump and for our Country. The evening was filled with faith, hope and unity. You may not realize it, but you impacted me with your spiritual leadership in our community. Since that evening, I have grown my circle to include more faith leaders and I have learned that by keeping myself focused on data that is true and accurate, the decisions made from that data will positively benefit our community for generations to come.
Attached are the 3 Resolutions passed unanimously by 15 Commissioners across three Western Union County Municipalities to include The Town of Waxhaw, The Village of Marvin and The Town of Weddington. The Union County 2050 Comprehensive Plan is also attached and speaks at length to expected growth in Western Union County. Finally, the Waxhaw 2030 Growth Strategy is attached and was developed in collaboration with Union County and covers the vision as a growing community. Please read the Resolutions words carefully because they are true and accurate. My voting is based on actual data which is what I promised Waxhaw and that is exactly why I support it. The facts included in the Resolutions are very concerning with how the Union County Public Works Service is being managed.
