My name is Jason McCloy Hall, your currently appointed Commissioner. I am now eagerly working to earn your vote as your elected Town Commissioner. As a Waxhaw resident since 2013, a parent, husband, and business owner, I have been privileged to be a part of a focused, dedicated, and experienced leadership team that understands and makes decisions to elevate the opportunity, rights, and vision of our varied citizen base. With well over 20,000 residents, leading Waxhaw is a job requiring perspective, patience, and purpose. I am poised to take that job and lead you with a commitment to listen so we can #KeepMovingForward.
MY DESIRE FOR WAXHAW:
Ensure that we continue the positive forward movement Waxhaw has benefited from in the last year. Our financial position is the best it has ever been in nearly 40 years.
Make informed, fact-based, consistent, and fair decisions based on fact to position ourselves as a vibrant community for all our citizens today and for years to come.
Focus on enhanced infrastructure and innovative partnerships that help us embrace success, and allow us to maintain control over the sense of the familiar and friendly community love.
Help the Town diversify our tax base by engaging with and bringing in new and exciting businesses to our community.

What are some responsibilities of a Waxhaw Commissioner?
Ensure that resources are adequate to serve the public and are used for their intended purposes
Act as a liaison between the public and the Waxhaw government to help make changes that will benefit the citizens.
Collectively develop a budget for the upcoming fiscal year and see that it is properly funded in order to keep the city in a good financial condition.
Why JASON HALL?
My family and I decided many years ago to make the Town of Waxhaw our "forever" home. We love our vibrant and diverse community that still offers a nostalgic downtown but boasts a big heart and great opportunity for all. Throughout my term as an appointed Commissioner, I have seen what open, informed decision making can do, and how respectful teamwork and a true sense of stewardship allows us to plan for the changes ahead of us.
Public Service.
I view my elected official role as a public servant where I work for all Waxhaw residents. I believe the first role of government is to ensure a safe environment where all citizens can grow, and all opinions and needs are represented fairly.
Infrastructure.
We must continue evolving and implementing a sound, common-sense plan to upgrade our transportation infrastructure to accommodate the increased traffic volume that flows through our Town by people that are not necessarily our residents. Working with NCDOT in open and honest negotiations can result in success.
Managing Growth.
Our newly adopted Land Development Code that I helped us create and adopt is a game-changer for us. It provides a consistent documented means to manage and guide proper growth, and puts us in the driver’s seat, and not under foot.
Addressing Difficult Issues.
Ignoring the growth that is affecting our Town is not the sensible way to manage it, and I believe we should always hit our issues head-on, with open minded and informed conversations.
Qualifications.
The vast majority of my career has been dedicated to consulting with U.S. Government at the Municipal, State, and Federal level. I have performed operational assessments for the largest cities in America and deployed mission-critical software systems for the government, improving the lives of residents they serve. Continuing as Your Commissioner for the Town of Waxhaw, my goal is to bring the knowledge and experience I have gained working with different government agencies across America.

Our History.
Continuing as Your Commissioner, my goal is to focus on embracing initiatives that keep our charm but provide the logical infrastructure improvements needed to maintain the beauty of our downtown. They are the lifeblood of our neighborhood and are the gathering places for children, friends, and families.
Fiscal Responsibility.
Waxhaw must be careful about how we spend our money. Planning for the future involves intelligence and experience. I will use my corporate planning experience to assess decisions through the lens of common sense and with an eye on the needs of future residents who will benefit from our vision.
All Voices.
While talking to many of our citizens I see that there are diverse voices with many opinions. Continuing as Your Commissioner, my goal is to encourage people to get involved in their Town and become educated about the way our government works here in Waxhaw. With well over 20,000 residents, we can’t operate with small ideas. Mature thinking is VITAL. We must make decisions based on who we are TODAY. My corporate experience has taught me that bringing different, informed ideas together results in the best outcomes.
Services.
Good local government is measured by its service to its residents. The Town is the unit of government closest to its citizens. We are fortunate in Waxhaw to have many services within our borders such as police and we must elevate and support the service industries so they stay strong and relevant.
